Every week we worship at Student Impact through music. But where did the idea of worship come from, and what is the point of it? It may not come as a surprise to many of you that worship through song is not something new that the church recently came up with, but something that took place during the time that the Bible was written as well. In Psalm 95:1-2 David talks about worship when he says: "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song." You see, worship is a way for us to adore our Savior, to cry out to Him, and to express our gratitute of what He has done for us. However, worship is not just about singing, but so much more. To learn more about what worship means, come to Impact this Sunday to hear a message from Bryan Jones!
In the meantime, comment to this post and let us know some worship songs that have really meant something in your life and why. Perhaps it is a phrase from a song that reminds you of a truth about God, or maybe a phrase that compels you to live life differently. We would love to hear from you!
